Dock Drinks & Gulf Sunsets

The rods are put away, the boat is tied up and the sky is starting to turn orange. That's your signal: pour something cold and don't go inside yet.

There's a particular moment on the Gulf when you know the day has changed.

The fishing rods are put away.

The boat is tied up.

The temperature finally starts dropping.

Music drifts across the dock.

And the sky begins turning orange.

That's when you pour something cold.

Maybe it's a cold beer after a day offshore. A ranch water after the beach. Rum punch at the dock. Fresh lemonade. Sweet tea.

The drink isn't really the important part.

It's the ritual.

You made it back. Everyone's safe. The fishing stories have already gotten slightly bigger. Dinner is coming.

And nobody's ready to go inside.

Make a Dockside Rum Punch

Keep it simple.

Good rum. Pineapple. Orange. Fresh lime. A little sweetness. Plenty of ice.

Pour it into whatever glass happens to be nearby.

Then take it outside.

That's the most important ingredient.

The Sunset Rule

When the sky starts changing, stop what you're doing.

We've all seen thousands of sunsets.

Watch this one anyway.

Stand on the dock. Walk down to the beach. Sit on the tailgate. Stay on the boat fifteen minutes longer.

Pour something cold. Find somewhere facing west. Put your feet up. Tomorrow can wait until tomorrow.

LIVE THE GULF.
Fish it. Beach it. Boat it. Eat it. Drink it. Explore it.
